MANILA, Philippines, September 10, 2025 Megaworld, one of the country’s leading property developers, is stepping up its retail game. Through its retail and commercial arm, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, the company is adding over 30,000 square meters of new leasable spaces across its townships, answering the rising demand for premium retail and lifestyle destinations.

The Newcoast Beachwalk in Boracay Newcoast

This year, several exciting projects are set to open in McKinley West in Taguig, Makati, Alabang West in Las
Piñas, and Boracay Newcoast in Aklan. These developments bring Megaworld closer to its ambitious goal of hitting 1 million square meters of gross leasable area by 2030.

What’s New and Exciting

One of the highlights of this expansion is The Shoppes at Park McKinley West, a two-level retail hub located at the podium of the Park McKinley West condominium complex. The mall promises a curated tenant mix featuring international brands, first-in-the-Philippines retail concepts, and beloved homegrown names. Shoppers and foodies can look forward to dining at Ogawa Traditional Japanese Restaurant, Tartufo, Royal Indian Curry House, One World Deli, George & Onnie’s, Café 17, Nightshade Cocktails & Bar, Hanamaruken, and Yakinuku Sudaku, among others.

Over in Makati, a new lifestyle mall is also rising at Vion Tower along EDSA corner Chino Roces Avenue, while fresh retail spaces are underway at Alabang West in Las Piñas.

Meanwhile, in the island paradise of Boracay, Megaworld is opening the Newcoast Beachwalk, a beachfront retail strip designed to cater to both tourists and locals with its vibrant mix of dining, retail, and service concepts.

A Strategy for Growth

According to Graham Coates, head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls:

“We are growing our leasing business by bringing our signature lifestyle mall concept to more locations while introducing new experiences that resonate with today’s consumers. This approach allows us to drive sustained growth for Megaworld and, at the same time, enhance the value of our townships nationwide.”

This strategy is clearly paying off. Megaworld Lifestyle Malls posted ₱3.33 billion in leasing revenues during the first half of 2025—a solid 10% increase year-on-year—thanks to higher consumer foot traffic and robust tenant demand.

Bigger Picture

Earlier this year, the company also unveiled the Imperial Wing at Lucky Chinatown in Binondo, Manila, expanding its gross leasable area there to 36,000 square meters. With these new projects, Megaworld is not only strengthening its presence in Metro Manila but also making bold moves in leisure destinations like Boracay.

As lifestyle-driven retail continues to thrive, Megaworld’s expansion signals one thing: township living and lifestyle experiences are becoming the future of urban communities in the Philippines
