Max's Group Starts "Pledge A Plate," Online Meal Donations For COVID-19 Frontliners

A number of Covid-19 front-liners such as Doctors, Nurses, Medical practitioners, among others are fighting not just against this pandemic virus but of course, fighting to live. Just recently, a young Doctor died due to this virus. Indeed, this is not an easy battle, but together we can win against this crisis! A number of companies already pledge their way of helping our Heroes, and this time Max's Group Inc. has introduced an online meal donation platform called “<b><i>Pledge A Plate.</i></b>” This aims to provide hot, filling meals to the brave men and women working tirelessly, across different partner hospitals in Metro Manila, to flatten the curve.<br />

While store operations remain paused, the largest casual dining operator in the Philippines, with its roster of well-loved brands that includes Max’s Restaurant, Yellow Cab Pizza Co., Pancake House, Krispy Kreme, Teriyaki Boy, Jamba Juice, Sizzin’ Steak, and Dencio’s, will now begin to prepare pledged meals collected through its converted online delivery portal. Every Php 90 meal donation will feed one frontliner a fresh, hearty meal.<br />

Megaworld To Waive Mall Rentals During Enhanced Community Quarantine

Today, the Giant township developer, Megaworld announced the waiving of rental charges to all its tenants and retail partners in all its Malls and commercial centers situated in Luzon and the rest of Metro Manila. The said move is applicable from March 16, 2020, to April 12, 2020, especially to those businesses that could not operate during this COVID-19 Luzon-wide quarantine.<br />

Aside from waiving the rental fees during this time, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls will also assist mall merchants like supermarkets, pharmacies, clinics, and banks that have been allowed to open during the quarantine period in terms of in-store sanitation and disinfecting efforts.<br />

This 1 million worth of Ethyl Alcohol is composed of 850,000 liters of 96-percent ethyl alcohol which will be denatured in order to convert them into sanitizing and disinfectant alcohol, which can be used by hospitals, clinics, and government agencies that are tirelessly working to curb the spread of the coronavirus all over the country.<br />

“<i>Through the Department of Health, we hope to distribute disinfectant alcohol to as many, if not, all the hospitals and clinics that are treating COVID-19 patients all over the country. We need to protect our frontliners – the doctors, nurses, and other healthcare and medical personnel – whose lives are at risk in protecting and treating people from this virus,</i>” says Kevin Andrew L. Tan, chief executive officer, AGI.<br />

Aside from hospitals and other medical institutions, this huge volume of disinfectant alcohol will also be donated to other front liners such as the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), as well as marshalls from various Local Government Units (LGUs) who are also exposed because of their work in enforcing the government’s Enhanced Community Quarantine in Luzon.<br />
