2GO Receives First BALANGAY Legacy Award for Domestic Shipping

Manila, Philippines – July 7, 2025 – 2GO, the Philippines’ leading provider of shipping and logistics solutions, has been awarded the inaugural Balangay Legacy Award for Domestic Shipping by the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, Inc. (SONAME). The recognition is part of the celebration marking 75 Years of Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding in the Philippines.

This prestigious award honors 2GO’s significant contributions to modernizing domestic sea transport, acknowledging the company’s role in transforming inter-island connectivity through fleet innovation, resilient operations, and service excellence.

Since launching its modernization efforts in 2022, 2GO has strengthened its shipping capabilities with a fleet of nine modern ROPAX (roll-on/roll-off passenger) vessels and one freighter, now serving 19 key ports across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The Balangay Legacy Award highlights companies and individuals that have shaped the Philippine maritime industry—from the ancient balangay boats to today’s sophisticated domestic shipping networks. The ceremony gathered top maritime and logistics stakeholders to celebrate this legacy of innovation and national progress.
